Parveen Patel is a Group Engineering Manager in the Azure Cloud Networking team at Microsoft, where he leads design, development and operation of various network services (NFV), including Express Route, VPN, Ananta and Application Gateway. Prior to joining Azure, Parveen worked at Microsoft Research, where he co-invented some groundbreaking data center networking technologies that are now widely deployed in Microsoft services and products – Load Balancing (Ananta), Data Center TCP (DCTCP), Virtual Layer-2 (VL2) and Network Monitoring. He has co-authored many papers in prestigious academic conferences like SIGCOMM and SOSP; and holds dozens of patents in networking and systems.
